Whoa... What's that?

Hiya hiya- Soooo... It's been a while! And I got a good reason why!

There has been some internet difficulties; I haven't been able to do anything worthwhile for a while, internet-wise. So thank goodness I'm at MCAD, where the internet flows freely like ambrosia from the horn of eternal pleanty!

Last week was springbreak, and what a break it was. I spent most of it working on my senior project, with some time working at Hollywood and sleeping. I'm pleased how my project is going, and I'm about 4/10th's done. I still have 2 pages to draw, 5 pages to ink (which include the aforementioned 2 undrawn pages), letter those aforementioned 5, and colour all fifteen pages. But I'm on a roll, and pretty soon I can start making my promotional material for the senior show. I'll almost certainly be advertising the shit out of it on my website (www.comicartiststeve.com), and be making postcards.

The other big thing that happened over springbreak was seeing Blue Man Group at the Excel Energy Centre in Saint Paul. Nikki's parents took us and her sisters to see them. The opening act was pretty "eh...", a guy named Mike Relm whose act pretty much felt like some bored Myspacer with a turn table. He wasn't a very good MC, and wasn't good at integrating his media.
BUT the main event was awesome.
I had seen BMG previously at The Luxor in Las Vegas, and both shows were terrific. This show had little of their original music (meaning music from their original CD and show), and had more lyrical music, but was none-the-less exhilerating. Nikki and I noticed that most of the music that had lyrics (with the exception of a cover of "Teenage Wasteland" by The Who) was really depressing, and if it weren't for the skill of the musicians, it would've been a gothy, angsty wrist-cutting fest. Anyway, great show!

I heard from Tom Richmond that I am indeed working at the caricature booth this summer. I'm excited about that!

One last thing: the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie is great. It's not really good, but it's a lot more watchable and enjoyable that I thought it would be, and here's what convinced me I wasn't wasting an hour and a half. When the movie starts, the first thing you hear is that Dan Powder song (the "you had a bad day... turn it around" one), and it's sung acapella. First off, it's such an unusual pick, second, it's sung really REALLY well, even at high speed, and third it's sung acapella. It's not a solid reason not to hate a movie, but it works for me!
