I got Larry Gonick as my mentor! This guy's most widely recognized work for someone who doesn't follow comics in-depth is The Cartoon History of the Universe parts I-IV, though he has several smaller books on the history of the usa, sex, physics, math, biology... each one a case example of what teachers should be using in their handouts, because the information he's saying is clear, consise, and funny.
Now, all I got to do is send him pdf's of my work so far. I've got 3 of 15 done, and another 12 to go. I've decided to send him pages in groups of 5. Tomorrow after or before work, I'll start on the next page (chonologically page 5- I decided to wait on page 1 for some reason I can't remember why) after getting some inking done.
In other news, I finally watched Conan the Barbarian for the first time since childhood (the childhood where I don't clearly remember events or what actually was said). My god, this is my kind of movie. I made the realization while watching that I wonder if I would have survived such a grueling hardship such as Conan undertook, and the awnser is a solid no with a but. The but being that in a world I live in now, I'm probably closer to Conan than any other fantasty figure. Probably explains the fantasty metal and bizare terms I use frequently. Alas, there shall not be lamentation of the women for many moons until I battle once more...
It's late, and I can't sleep. I want to, but I doubt sleep will come before 3 or 4 in the morning... grr. Wish me luck.
